Everyone agrees that you must have a website for your business, and it’s fast becoming essential to have video on that website to inspire confidence in the consumer and show your professionalism (Not to mention in getting a good SEO ranking in Google and other search engines). To have a short film produced for your small business is likely to cost $1000-2000 or more, plus the challenge of finding a reputable production company, one who understands the personal chef industry, and who will stand behind their product.
I have been making videos for the last 3 years, and after making literally hundreds of videos for the Culinary Media Network and for restaurants, and food and beverage clients all over the world, I’m now offering the same service to fellow personal chefs and other small business owners for an affordable price:
$600 $500 (for a limited time – see details below).

How it Works
I will send you a handheld camera in the mail, which you will use to shoot your footage.
You’ve seen “flip” style cameras everywhere lately. They’re easy to use, even for a novice. It’s best to get a spouse, friend, or techie teenager to help you, since you’ll want to be the one on camera! I’ll send you my video tipsheet, and even suggest a list of the shots you’ll need to show off your personal chef business.
When you’re finished shooting to your hearts content, you’ll simply send the camera back, and I’ll edit your footage, together with additional photos of your food, into a finished video with music, transitions, & opening branded logo sequence using your company logo.
What you Get
• Chef Mark’s detailed tipsheet for shooting great video
• Chef Mark’s video guide on the DO’s and DONT’s of shooting video
• Phone Consultation with Chef Mark to help you develop your concept and script
• Video Camera Rental: An easy to use handheld HD Video camera (Flip, Vado, or Kodak)
• Finished video in various formats: DVD, HD version, mp4 version for the web
The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Showcase yourself in your regular working environment. Whether in a client’s kitchen or your own, you’ll be able to also show your typical cookday, where you shop, your “Chefmobile”, or whatever else you want your customers to see and know about your business.
PLUS, you’ll be able to get started whenever you like! The usual turnaround for finished videos is between 1-2 weeks from the time I receive the camera back in the mail.
NOTE: If you’re in the New York area, I can shoot your video myself using my HD Video Camera, Wide angle lenses, professional microphones, and lighting if needed, for a small additional fee. Contact me for details.

Special Offer: “Lights! Camera! Action!”
I will be offering a special event on August 1, 2010 as part of the USPCA National Conference in Denver, Colorado.
Lights! Camera! Action! will offer you the opportunity to have your own special video shot by me using the HD Camera and Professional lighting and audio equipment I use for my clients all over the world! By shooting many videos for different clients all in one day, I can offer you a much lower price than if you were to hire him for the day yourself. PLUS, you won’t have to pay for his travel fees to come to you!
We’ll be using a professional demonstration kitchen at a Kitchen Design Center in Denver, with a professional lighting setup and pro audio equipment. You will be scheduled in 1 hour blocks, which will be enough time to shoot an introduction, where you speak about your business, and you’ll even be able to demonstrate your signature dish!
Just as with the regular “remote service”, you’ll get my tipsheets, video coaching, and phone consultation to help you develop your concept. You’ll also be able to bring photos of your food and any other video that you capture yourself at home as “B-Roll” to overlay over the main video. However, you’ll also get the benefit of my expertise in shooting in person, as well as the added benefit of the higher quality studio setup. As a registrant to the USPCA National Conference in Denver, you’ll have the advantage of scheduling your video shoot on the Sunday of conference, which won’t require you to come in early or stay late, thus saving you added travel expense.
Additional Services available:
• Flash conversion
• Uploading to multiple video sharing sites: YouTube, Blip, Vimeo, Viddler, Revver, Google Video, Yahoo Video, etc.
• Additional “cooking demo” video with extra footage shot.
• Creation of a video player to feature any other videos you want to show on your website
• Design and installation of blog
• Social Media training
There are many local chapters of the USPCA, APPCA, IACP, WCR, and other chef associations throughout the country. I am available to travel to your location and shoot a number of videos at once. If you’ve got a number of chefs (or other local businesses that could benefit from this service), contact me and we can negotiate a special group rate for your members or friends. Travel and lodging expenses will vary depending on the location, and I can offer an advantaged price depending on the number of videos I’ll be shooting.
Pricing varies: Contact Chef Mark for a quote.
Still wondering why you should use video on your website?
Don’t take my word for it. Here’s a video interview with Bruce Clay, Search Engine Optimization expert, who shares why it’s now ESSENTIAL to have video on your site if you plan on having a decent ranking on Google and other search engines in the future:
Bruce says: “I think, that a year from now, we’re going to be sitting here saying that if you don’t have video, if you don’t have engagement options on your website, you’re just NOT going to rank. It will make you last among equals if you don’t have them.”
43.3% of merchants will update their e-commerce sites with video THIS YEAR! If you don’t, you’ll be left behind. Customers trust companies they can SEE and get to know with video before they buy.
